PvP
One of the most exciting aspects of Battle of the Immortals is the ability to engage in combat with other players. This is done in many venues, and for many reasons, and covered here will be the most basic of them.
Player VS. Player Combat
The term PVP refers to Player versus Player combat. In the game you will have many opportunities to take part in this type of combat. As you quest through the game there will be zone specific PVP where this combat is encouraged as well as in-game daily events where the primary goal is to defeat your fellow players. Just make sure as you are leveling that you are aware of your surroundings and potential threats.
Duels
Two players can agree to a Duel by having one player target the other player, right clicking their portrait, and selecting Duel. The second player will then be prompted to accept the duel request, and the duel will commence.
Duels can be performed at any level, and in any zone. They will end when one player is reduced to 1 health. No infamy penalty will be incurred and no items will be lost as a result of a duel.
Open world PVP
Open world PvP will be available as soon as you achieve level 31. All players involved must be level 31 or above, and the process will revolve around the PvP status UI:
Your PvP status can be set to Off, or On. If your status is Off, you will be unflagged and not be able to attack other players. If your status is On, you will be flagged, and will be able to attack any type of player that you have signified in the PvP Protections described below:
Red Name and Yellow Name Players
If the "Does not Attack red/yellow name players" tab is checked, you will not be able to attack red named players, or yellow named players.
A player becomes Yellow Named by attacking a White Named player. A player becomes Red Named by killing a White Named player, and gains 10 infamy per white name player killed, which will decrease over time. An Important note about Red and Yellow Named players is that they have a chance to drop items when killed. The player that kills them will receive these items. Yellow named players have a much lower chance to drop items than Red Named players do.
- White Name Players:
- If the "Does not Attack White Name players" tab is checked, you will not be able to attack White Name players. A White Name player is a player that has not previously attacked any other White Name players, and has an infamy level of zero.
- Guild Partners:
- If the "Does not Attack Guild partners" tab is checked, you will not be able to attack players in your same guild, even if they are Red or Yellow Named.
- Party Partners:
- If the "Does not Attack Party partners" tab is checked, you will not be able to attack players in your party, even if they are Red or Yellow Named.
- Alliance Partners:
- If the "Does not Attack Alliance partners" tab is checked, you will not be able to attack players in your same alliance, even if they are Red or Yellow Named.
Pvp Zones
There are 3 types of zones in the general world
Safe zones: These are zones where PvP cannot occur outside of duels.
Neutral zones: These are zones where open PvP can occur between players above level 31.
Arena zones: These are special PvP zones where PvP can occur and players will never receive increased infamy, even for killing white named players.
Prison
If a player has a red name and they die, they won't be sent to the normal graveyard. They will be sent to a PvP prison. They are trapped in this prison until their infamy drops to zero. Their infamy will be reduced at an increased rate while a player resides in this prison.
